Saved From Death By Electrocution

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”  John 10:10

“MY name is Chidi Umeh and I worship at the Lawanson Parish of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Lagos. It would not amount to an exaggeration to say that I escaped death by the whiskers recently in the course of my work. I want to give thanks to God Almighty who delivered and saved me from what could have been premature death.

Sometime in January this year (2012), I was engaged to do some paintings on a fence, but close to it was a naked wire connected to the high-tension. While I did the job, the roller in my hand accidentally touched the wire and I experienced an electric shock. The effect was such that I was thrown down and I landed on a nearby transformer; and immediately, an explosion occurred and this attracted the attention of people to the scene. I became unconscious. Although PHCN officials were invited to the scene (as I was informed later) and they disconnected the area from power supply, I lay there for about fifteen to twenty minutes before someone could brave it to touch me to see if I was still alive. When he discovered that I was still breathing, he called for help and I was brought out from the place and rushed to the hospital where I was revived. But it was discovered that parts of my body were badly burnt.

I was in the hospital till the following day before I could gather enough strength to contact my family members. Though it was a painful experience, I thank God that I am alive today to tell this story and to praise His name for sparing my life. Praise the Lord!”
