Miraculous Deliverance From Bandits

“PRAISE the Lord! Brethren my name is Godwin Nwoke from Ikotun Parish of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Lagos. I am standing before the congregation of the children of God to say that if you are a Watchman, you should be proud of yourself and I counsel that you stay put in this Church. The name Watchman is a terror in the kingdom of darkness. On Thursday, April 3, 2014, I went to a Motor Park at Jibowu along Ikorodu Road, Lagos, to make some payments for my children who were to travel from the East back to Lagos. I was in the company of one of our brothers who had agreed to give me a ride in his vehicle. While in the car, I had a ministration that that area was a notorious place so I asked the brother where in his opinion was safer for me to alight. When he got to a point, he said I could go down that it was safer there; so I walked from that point to a particular terminus to make the arrangements.
After that, I crossed over to the other side of the road where I could catch a bus to Oshodi. Eventually, one came. There were quite a number of passengers struggling and pushing each other as they tried to get into the bus. I eventually managed to enter and secured a seat. No sooner had the driver moved than the ‘conductor’ shut the door and asked for our fares. Meanwhile, I had called my wife to inform her that I had made the payments. As the journey progressed, what we heard from one of the criminals (who had all the while pretended to be fellow passengers) was ‘cooperate or you die!’ The one that sat beside me had a gun so also was the one that was behind me while others sat at the back seat. One of them at the back commanded that we should bow down our heads and not look up. We all complied without putting up any resistance. The one that sat beside me dipped his hand into my pocket and I asked him what he wanted. He replied, ‘your money and everything’. I told him not to worry that I would surrender whatever I had on me to him. I brought out the money from my pocket and he asked how much it was and I told him it was two thousand five hundred naira. I explained that I had just gone to make some payments at one of the bus terminals. After that, he ordered me to surrender the bag in my hand which he forcefully snatched from me any way. Meanwhile, they had ordered us to bend down our heads, so I asked God what to do under such a circumstance and the ministration I got was: tell them who you are. With that I made bold to tell them that I was a pastor. The one beside me asked if I was a fake pastor or a genuine one and I said a genuine one. He asked which church and I said Watchman. Are you sure, he asked again and I said yes. He looked at their leader who was sitting at the back and that one said, please, I don’t want any trouble. He said that again and again and ordered that whatever had been taken from me should be returned to me. Without hesitation, the one who took my money and bag gave them back to me.
Though he returned my money and bag, it never occurred to me that he had cleverly removed my tablet from the bag. At a point, their leader ordered the driver to divert to the service lane and stop the vehicle. He asked me to disembark and before they zoomed off, he asked me again whether they had returned whatever they took from me and I said, yes. It was not until they had gone that I checked my bag and discovered that the tablet was not there. However, I want to give God all the glory because there had been cases of such incidents in which after dispossessing their victims of their valuables, they would push them out of the vehicle while still in motion. Only God knows what eventually happened to the other victims in that vehicle. This goes to show that God recognizes His children and would do everything to protect them from danger. So if you are a Watchman, stand firm and do not waver for God is interested in our well-being. Praise the Lord!”

*Editor’s Note: The Watchman being referred to in this testimony is not just anybody who comes to the Watchman Fellowship. What makes a person a true Watchman is that the person must have been genuinely born-again after sincerely repenting of and forsaking all his or her sins, and then making a firm resolve to live right, to seek to please God in the person’s every conduct, speech and thought…and to be useful to God throughout his or her life on earth.
