“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee” – Isaiah 49:15
Mrs. Kelechi Onwumere is of the Amazu Parish, Orsu Zone, of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement in Orlu Diocese, Imo State. After her first child, she was hoping that another one would come soon after. That, however, was not to be. But at the special programme organised for women in the diocese, God knocked out the hindrance and she was blessed with another child. Her husband was so moved by what God did that he decided to join her in fellowship and become a Watchman. Her testimony:
“PRAISE the Lord! Brethren, I am happy today because the Lord has taken away the reproach of a break in fruitfulness from my family. My husband and I got married in the year 2006 and were blessed with a child not long after our marriage. My joy knew no bounds when this happened. However, our expectation to have another conception after the child was weaned was dashed. All the efforts deployed to realise our dream were hopeless. I, therefore, resolved to believe God and trust in His power to see me through. Indeed, the power of God was manifested at a programme tagged, ‘Calvary Settled Them All,’ which was organized by our Diocesan Woman Coordinator for women seeking the fruit of the womb and spinsters that had attained the age of marriage. Shortly after the programme, I noticed a change in my body and when I went for a test, I was told to my amazement that I was pregnant. I kept my fingers crossed and began to monitor the development until my tummy bulged out to buttress the fact that I was indeed pregnant. When it was time for my baby to come out, I delivered him without much stress at the appointed time which is what I have come to celebrate with this testimony.
My husband, who, as it were, had thrown a challenge that if God really existed, that He should give him a baby boy, saw the wondrous work of the Lord and named him Chukwudi which means, God exists. And after seeing the hand of God in operation, he (husband) decided to start coming to fellowship and has now become a Watchman, praise the Lord!”
