WATCHMEN praise the Lord. My name is Oby Ilechukwu and I worship at the Tedi Parish of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Lagos. Let me begin by saying that the testimony I am about to share is one that if I should narrate it in full, I surely would take a lot of time. So, I will try to summarise it without missing the vital points. I want to emphasise the fact that there is God in the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement!
My case is one that is known to almost everyone in this congregation. On October 18, 2001, I had my first child. After the baby was weaned, I desired to have another one but that would not be. I could not conceive again. I wondered what had gone wrong. I began to count the years as they rolled by. It was as if I was day-dreaming. I had no inkling that the enemy was poised for a battle. However, the journey which he meant to be an unending one, the God of Watchman has ended it by breaking the enemy’s yoke upon me. The enemy has now been put to shame. By the grace of God, I took in again sometime in 2012 and put to bed on October 18, 2013.
In 2012, I knelt before the altar and my pastor spoke to me. He told me emphatically that he saw me carrying a baby boy and asked me to see him after the fellowship. After he had attended to some of the brethren wishing to see him, he invited my husband and I to his office. After counselling us, he asked us to hold our hands and he prayed for us. Today, I stand to glorify the name of the Lord because God has confirmed the prophecy of His servant.
I remember an occasion that our pastor at Tedi also invited me and asked me some questions. After he had counselled me, he asked me to go and read I Samuel chapter 1 after which I should come before the altar of the Lord (pulpit of many colours) to pray and ask God for whatever I needed. He said he wouldn’t pray for me that I should talk to God and make known my request unto Him. Having read the Bible passage he asked me to read, I knelt before the altar of the Lord and prayed fervently with tears running down my cheeks. After a long while, he came to me and pronounced that I should go that the Lord had answered my prayers. No sooner I got home than I received his call telling me to go and start buying baby wears. I called my husband to inform him what the pastor said and he promised to send me some money. Later, he sent the money and I went to the market on Saturday December 1, 2012 with one of my friends and bought as many things as the money I had on me could afford.
My husband arrived the country from his base on December 11, 2012 and by February in the new year, I noticed a positive change in my body system. I remember that when he arrived I brought out the box that contained the baby wears and we laid our hands on it and prayed. Earlier, we had visited so many hospitals with the hope that we could be helped but they all had proved abortive. Though friends and those who meant well had suggested some places but I had firmly resolved never to go to any where that might compromise my faith. We visited so many hospitals and reports from the doctors were not helpful. When I could not be helped medically, I depended on God by intensifying my prayers and challenged God, as it were, to rise to the occasion. I concluded that those medical reports were from men and not from God and that only God had the final say.
During the period, the enemy fought from all angles but in all, God took control. When I noticed that the pregnancy was due for delivery, I went to my pastor and after counselling me he prayed for me. I went back home to put things in order before proceeding to the hospital and just about thirty minutes after I arrived at the hospital, I put to bed this bouncing baby boy. The God of Watchman has caused me to laugh again and I am so happy to glorify His name. I thank you all for your love and concern and pray that God will visit as many families as are looking unto God for a divine visitation in this area of conception. One interesting thing is that October 18 has become a significant date in my family. My first daughter was born on October 18, my husband returned from his base on October 18 and this baby was also born on October 18. Praise the Lord”!
