Baby Revived In The Womb

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”  John 11:25.

AMARACHI Ike is my name, and I worship at the Mushin Parish of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Lagos. I want to testify of the goodness of the Lord in my life, how he restored to life my baby in the womb, whom the doctors had pronounced dead.

It happened that sometime ago while I was pregnant, I had some feelings in my body and sensed that all was not well with me, and so I went to the hospital to see a doctor. After he had listened to me, he prescribed some drugs for me and I left.

When I got home, I took the drugs as prescribed, but when I later discovered that I was reacting negatively to them, I decided to stop taking them.

After about three days, I noticed that my body system had changed and there was no more sign of my baby moving in the womb. When I complained to my husband, he suggested that I should stop taking the drugs.

Later, I went to the hospital again to tell them what I was experiencing. The doctor I met previously was not on duty so the one who attended to me this time examined me and when he was through, he told me that the baby was no longer moving. Indeed, he emphatically said that the baby was dead. The pregnancy was about six months old by then.

He then suggested that I should report back to the hospital later in the day to meet with the other doctor so they could decide what to do as fast as possible.

I broke down in tears and cried profusely. When I managed to reach home, still crying, a thought came to me that I should call the pastor immediately, peradventure God would do something.

Indeed, even though the doctor had given his verdict, God is the One that has the final say, in everything. With that resolve, my faith was rekindled and I called the pastor on phone. He responded and said he would come to my house but on a second thought, I decided not to wait for him, but to take the matter to his doorsteps.

I then called him again to inform him that I was coming to the church to see him. He said that was okay, but added that I should come with my husband. I called my husband and when he came home, we left for the church.

I couldn’t stop crying even when we got to the church. The security man came to me and asked if I had called the pastor and I said yes.  He then said:  ‘My daughter, stop crying, God will do something.’

The pastor came later and after he had listened to me, he went into prayers, arguing my case with several scriptural verses. Brethren, though I was still crying, my faith was boosted when he said that God who raised Lazarus from the dead, will revive my baby.

Meanwhile, I was still crying, but it was clear that that final argument by the pastor had settled the matter.  He then said to me that if I knew what God had done for me, I would stop crying and begin to thank and praise Him. That statement was the soothing balm that calmed my nerves and I wiped my tears.

I went home and at about 11.30pm later that evening, I found out that I couldn’t sleep. I was just lying down, staring at the ceiling.

Suddenly, I felt some movement in my tummy and it was like something had suddenly hit me. I touched the spot and behold, my baby was kicking and kicking!

I burst into another round of tears but this time, they were tears of joy. My baby was alive again, I said to myself. I did not know whether it was the excitement or the movement of the baby that occupied my mind that night because I remained restless.

With my hope now restored, I gathered myself and went to have my bath after which I had appetite to eat something because throughout that day, I had refused to eat.

In the morning, my sister suggested I should go for a scan to be sure exactly that it has happened. When I got to the place, the person who attended to me asked why I came for the scan. I told him I wanted to be sure all was well with my baby.

He said: ‘But your baby is kicking; there is no problem with your baby.’ He asked me to go without collecting any money from me.

Sometimes when one thinks that all hopes are lost, that is the time God arises to prove Himself. In this case, I never thought such a miracle could take place because that was my third experience. I was married about three years ago and any time I took in, I would have a miscarriage.

I thank God who brought me into this church and after prayers were made on my behalf by the pastor, God answered, and today, I am a mother, having put to bed to this bouncing baby boy on Thursday, August 12, 2010. God is indeed alive and faithful. Praise the Lord!”
