Fifteen Years Childlessness Ends

“…With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” – Matthew 19:26

At the special Sunday service on November 10, 2013 to dedicate the recently refurbished Watchman Diocesan fellowship centre, Aba, Mrs. Chinwe Basil Ajuziogu of the Abayi-Ariara District of the Watchman in Aba gave a testimony that greatly moved the crowd that had gathered for the meeting. Clapping and ovations rang out loudly as the happy congregation appreciated God for the wonderful miracle He gave to Pastor and Mrs. Ajuziogu. For several years, they had believed God for the fruit of the womb, and on the fifteenth year of their marriage, God whose faithfulness never fails blessed them with a very lovely child. Incidentally, the man of God, Pastor A.C. Ohanebo, later preached a message that day entitled, “The Bottom Line” in which he stressed that ‘The Word of God on any matter is the bottom line.” Indeed, to the Ajuziogu family, God has proved that His Word is the final say on any matter. Here now is Mrs. Ajuziogu’s testimony:

“I AM here today to testify to the faithfulness of God and His mercies upon my family and how he removed the reproach of fifteen years childlessness. When I came here this morning, and began to look at the several sections of our well beautified church building, I said to myself: Maybe, God did not want me to give my testimony in this building the way it was before. So, He probably allowed my miracle to come at this time so that we will come to testify on a day that the building would be looking very fine as it is now because He was planning to do beautiful things in my life. I got married in 1998 and you know that naturally, once somebody gets married, the next thing the person would be expecting would be that maybe within the next two years, the person would have a baby. Unfortunately (and fortunately), two years passed, followed by the third year and the fourth, and nothing was coming forth. But we continued praying and believing God because we know that He does not disappoint those who put their trust in Him. And as we came for fellowships, whether on Charismatic Hour days or our other programmes, we continued to hear God’s promises concerning us. We always claimed them, believing that one day, they were going to materialize.
However, as human beings we at some point sought medical attention. Unfortunately, no doctor could give us any solution. On a particular occasion, the doctor told us that there was nothing they thought they could do because they could not say why we had not been able to have a child. You are sound and your husband is sound, they told us. So we continued. When we went for meetings at Awo-Omamma, the man of God would give prophetic utterances and we would claim them, and I would be hoping that by next year when we would return for another edition of the conference, I would come with my baby. But it did not happen that way. Yet when I got there, I would see other people testifying that according to the word which the man of God spoke which they believed, they were blessed. And they would show their babies to prove their point. And as they testified, I would be wondering and asking myself the day I would also come out to say, behold the man of God prophesied and I claimed it, and now here is my baby. Now, that day has come today!
So we continued believing the prophecies of the man of God. Our diocesan pastor and our other pastors were also making pronouncements and we equally believed them. I don’t know how many of us were present at the Night of Cross Over when wine (grape juice) was taken here to show the kind of celebration that would take place this year? You would remember also that last year was declared the Year of Favour and I strongly believed that God was going to favour me especially in this area (of the fruit of the womb). Now towards the end of that last year, I started having some feelings suggesting that the pronounced favour was about to come and that God did not want me to miss it. On that Night of Cross Over meeting, after they had celebrated, our diocesan pastor just called my husband, Pastor Basil, and declared: have you seen this man? (He began to show him to the congregation) Have you seen this man? All of you just look at him. God is going to do something for him this year that everybody that hears it will shout and the eyes that will see it will glorify the name of the Lord!
Well, I stand here today to tell you that this baby is that thing the Lord has done and indeed the ears that have heard it have shouted and the eyes that have seen it have glorified the Lord. She is a special child that has attracted the glory of God. God took time to make her so I want to thank God for His faithfulness. God never fails and His promises are sure. He cannot fail once He has spoken. All we need to do is to be patient. Continue following Him and wait on Him. He is not going to disappoint us. Even when I was carrying this baby, you know I have not carried one before, I have never been pregnant for one day let alone having miscarriages… so when I had her in the womb, I kept wondering. I used to hear pregnant women saying one thing or the other about their experiences in the course of the pregnancy. But in my case, I went to work everyday; I was always in church, always sang in the choir. Even a day before I had her, I came for the joint fellowship we had that day, and we were all here and singing and dancing and doing several things. At the end of the day, we went home. The next morning, I just went for the routine ante-natal care. There was nothing wrong with me; nothing was happening to me, but before I knew it, they told me that they would not allow me to go. I had to call my husband who took me there before going to his work. I said to him: Come o, it’s like this thing will happen today! I asked him to go back to the house and bring my bag for me. So I am standing here to thank God that at the end of the day, I brought my baby to the joint fellowship today, for the first time, and if you look at this baby that God gave us, you will know that she is fearfully and wonderfully made. God took time to make her. I say this God who did not fail us, who did not fail his servants, who fulfilled the prophecies of His servants, to Him be all the honour, glory and adoration; and let every praise, all Excellency be ascribed unto His name in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
